Encaustic painting, a mixture of wax and pigments used in hot weather, is an ancestral technique: the first works known to encaustic on wood, the portraits of Fayoum date from the first centuries of our era. It is to the discovery of this art little known in Europe that I invite you, by organizing initiation courses or training à la carte. After a detailed presentation of the materials and materials needed for the encaustic painting, you will learn the basic processes and recipes (making colors, controlling the heat input). You will then approach the more creative practices, from the fusion of colors to mixed techniques, to the creation of reliefs. So you can explore a very wide range of effects: opaque or transparent material, scratching, engraving, skating to combine with other mediums or collages of papers, fabrics and other small objects.
